Groundwater Pollution

Groundwater pollution is a tremendous environmental concern considering that half of the U.S. population depend on groundwater for drinking water and our agriculture depends on groundwater for irrigation of crops.

Sources of groundwater pollution include leaking Underground Storage Tanks, industrial waste disposal sites, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides just to name a few.

Several federal laws exist to assist in groundwater pollution prevention and remediation. The two major laws are the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
